Covid-19 travel tests scrapped for fully vaccinated people

From 11st February, travellers arriving in England will no longer have to take Covid tests if they are fully vaccinated.

All travellers will still have to complete an online passenger locator form no more than 48 hours before arriving.

All “Plan B” Covid measures lifted 

We have now returned to Covid-19 “Plan A”:

  • A full return to the workplace where possible
  • Face coverings still encouraged to be worn in enclosed and busy areas
  • Easements of visits to care homes
  • Face coverings no longer mandated in classrooms from 20th January 2022
  • Lifting of Covid passes in nightclubs and other large events
  • However, there will still be a legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive for Covid

Omicron support grant opens to hospitality and leisure businesses

The Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG), aimed at supporting those businesses in the hospitality, leisure, and accommodation sectors most impacted by the Covid-19 Omicron variant, is now open to eligible businesses.

Eligible rated businesses will be supported with one-off grants of up to £6,000, with total grant amounts dependent on each business’s rateable value.

Positive Covid isolation period cut from seven days to five

From Monday 17th January 2022, people can leave their Covid-19 isolation if they record two negative lateral flow tests on days five and six. After these two negative results, they are allowed to leave (on the sixth day).
